About

Founder-led team.
Built for students.

SyllabusAI is developed with a focus on speed, privacy, and clarity — so you can trust what lands on your calendar.

Tarang (TJ) Jammalamadaka

Founder · Product & engineering

Leads SyllabusAI end to end: product direction, engineering, and the privacy posture that keeps syllabus text off our servers. Student tools should feel obvious, not clever.

Connor Huynh

Team

Helps move SyllabusAI forward with the founder — strategy, execution, and keeping the product grounded in how students actually work.

Jonathan Naumann

Team

Supports outreach, communications, and campus-side momentum so more students hear about a calmer way to handle syllabus season.

Jonathan Varughese

Team

Contributes across the build — from refining the story to shipping improvements that make the parser easier to trust and share.

Questions

Frequently asked.

Everything you need to know about SyllabusAI.

What formats work?
SyllabusAI accepts pasted text from Canvas, Blackboard, Google Docs, Word, or email. You can also drop or upload a .txt or .pdf file (text-based PDFs; scanned image-only PDFs need OCR first). As long as the content includes dates with event names, we can parse it — formatting does not need to be neat.
Is my data stored?
Your syllabus text is not stored on our servers — it is processed in real time and discarded after parsing. If you use “resume on this device,” a copy of extracted events (and optional course name) is saved only in your browser’s local storage until you clear it.
Does it work with Canvas/Blackboard?
Yes. Copy the syllabus text directly from your Canvas course (or any LMS), paste it into SyllabusAI, and parse. No plugins needed, no account required. We handle any text format from any source.
How accurate is it?
Very accurate for clearly formatted syllabi. The AI is trained on thousands of real syllabi and catches dates in various formats (e.g., "April 5", "4/5/26", "Apr 5"). Sometimes syllabi are ambiguous or contain typos — in those cases, double-check before relying on the dates. When in doubt, always verify with your instructor.
Is it really free?
Yes. Completely free, forever. No ads, no premium tier, no upsell. We built this for students to help with time management. That's all we care about.
